    Statewide Geiger-mode LiDAR

    ESP is supporting this first in the nation statewide update for Geiger-mode LiDAR data collection and processing and the generation of Hydro DEM raster products. The project design was developed to ensure that the acquired LiDAR data meet or exceeds the requirements for the current USGS Quality Level 1 (QL1) and State LiDAR Specifications.

  • Statewide Orthophotography

    Statewide Orthophotography

    ESP managed data acquisition for a 2010 Statewide Orthophotography project. We were responsible for 27,530 square miles of orthophotography at a 6" pixel resolution covering 53 of the state’s 100 counties. In addition, we served as the Statewide program coordinator, managing all contractors with respect to schedule, scope and independent QA/QC.

  • QL1 LiDAR for 14,500 Square Miles

    QL1 LiDAR for 14,500 Square Miles

    ESP, along with the support of acquisition and processing subconsultants, supported a state floodplain agency initiative to collect Quality Level 1 (QL1) LiDAR for approximately 14,500 square miles. Deliverables included classified LiDAR point clouds, 3D hydro-breaklines, countywide Esri terrains, intensity images and advanced classification.

  • Carowinds LiDAR and Orthophotography

    In support of a water park expansion and improvement project, ESP provided photogrammetric and LiDAR services for approximately 54.5 acres. Services included collection and processing of color 2” pixel resolution aerial imagery and LiDAR for the entire park, and topographic and planimetric mapping.

  • UAS Flood Inundation Imagery Collection

    UAS Flood Inundation Imagery Collection

    ESP provided UAS support in the wake of Hurricane Matthew, flying UAS missions in the communities of Bucksport, Conway, Nichols, and Socastee to document peak flood stage levels in and around developed areas and critical infrastructure affected by environmental hazards.

Working with strategic acquisition partners, ESP has collected and processed geospatial data for numerous projects involving both aerial LiDAR and photogrammetric data deliverables. ESP’s in-house processing capabilities include LiDAR calibration and processing, image processing, independent quality control, and the development of derivative products such as contours, hydro-flattened DEMs, and terrain models.

ESP’s geospatial department has a highly-efficient production and independent QA/QC workflow using a combination of standard and proprietary software.
