ESP provided Special Inspections and construction materials testing services for the new University Recreation Center building. The project consisted of the construction of a 148,744 square-foot, five-story concrete and steel framed building and associated infrastructure. The building contains an indoor pool, fitness rooms, and an open gymnasium that contains four mixed-use basketball/volleyball courts.
ESP’s Special Inspections and construction materials testing services included subgrade evaluations, undercut monitoring, field density testing, foundation evaluations including rammed aggregate or vibro-piers, inspections related to retaining walls, reinforced concrete, post-tensioned concrete, masonry, structural steel, cold-formed steel framing, wood construction, exterior insulation and finishing systems, fireproofing, and asphalt pavement construction.
