2018 HBAGC Community of the Year

Taking advantage of unique natural features along the shores of the Catawba River, Masons Bend is a 550-acre Crescent community of over 650 single-family homes designed to create a peaceful, small-town oasis, including beautiful entrance monumentation, plentiful amenities, and a neighborhood school (Kings Town Elementary).

Focusing on amenities for active outdoor families, Masons Bend features a series of parks and gathering spaces, including river access and a kayak/canoe launch. Connecting the community to the Carolina Thread Trail system, natural trails wind through the site, featuring stunning river overlooks and following an old railbed through a historic rock quarry to honor the site’s history.

The community also includes a junior Olympic pool for swim meets, children’s splash pool, playground, picnic pavilion, indoor and outdoor fireplaces, and clubhouse.
