ESP is seeking a senior leader for our transportation geotechnical engineering services. Our goal is to offer employment to a senior level consultant who is ingrained in the transportation industry (with emphasis on NCDOT), knows the design/construction professionals (NCDOT, SCDOT, VDOT, Design Consultants, General Contractors) in the Carolinas/Virginia region and is experienced in managing geotechnical engineering work in the transportation field. This position will preferably be based either in the Raleigh, Greensboro or Charlotte area.

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
• Client base and staffing growth
• Providing oversight and direction of staff
• Providing technical review of engineering analysis/reporting
• Performing project management duties for select projects
• Technical analysis and reporting, when required

• Experienced in all phases of a project including: client interaction, proposal preparation, managing and/or performing of field engineering and testing, engineering analysis, report writing, consultation, invoice preparation, client contact and correspondence
• Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE)
• Must possess or be able to obtain an NC PE license by comity
• 7+ years of experience
• Technical expertise in some or all of the following: NCDOT Bridge Foundation analysis/design, NCDOT Roadway Investigation, NCDOT pavement investigation, SCDOT Bridge Foundation analysis/design, SCDOT Roadway Investigation, VDOT Bridge Foundation analysis/design, VDOT Roadway Investigation. Also, candidate should be comfortable with client interaction needs during design-build pursuits.
• Must be able to pass drug screen, background check and have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the company's driving (MVR) policy

• Marketing/Business Development to DOTs, Design Consultants, Contractors and/or other potential clients
• Managing the practice to achieve expected profitability and growth
• Effectively manage client base and client satisfaction
• Train and mentor staff
• Prepare and/or review proposals and invoices
• Direct, perform, write and/or review engineering analyses, technical reports
• Serve as technical leader, providing expert technical advice as necessary
• Troubleshoot technical challenges encountered in the field on behalf of our client
• Interact and support other ESP operations with technical analysis, as necessary
