ESP Associates, Inc has an immediate opening for a Geodatabase Administrator located in our Raleigh, NC office. This person will be responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance and repair of ESP's Enterprise GIS database with Esri's ArcGIS Server and SQL Server. The role includes the development and design of Enterprise GIS database strategies, monitoring and improving database performance and capacity, and planning for future enhancements. The Geodatabase Administrator may also plan, coordinate and implement Enterprise database security measures.

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Maintains Enterprise related GIS Databases and Servers for broad use in the GIS and Web Mapping areas
• Develops and establishes procedures for Enterprise GIS Database and ArcGIS Server tuning and performance monitoring
• Designs, documents, and builds GIS database architecture and schema including tables, views, procedures, and permissions
• Provides assistance to maintain compliance with the Spatial Data Standards
• Develops automation protocols for loading spatial data using data modeling and attribute mapping and manages the defined workflow routines
• Administration of ArcSDE, ArcGIS, and SQL Server users, roles and security models
• Monitors and maintains ArcSDE performance and tuning as needed
• Manages Geodatabase replication and monitors regular data update cycles
• Works with GIS staff and Application Development team to populate spatial and enterprise databases, provide performance tuning, and automate data loads or scripting
• Assists in scheduling upgrades and roll-out of patches into various environments
• Develop procedures for applying service packs and upgrades for ArcGIS including ArcSDE, ArcGIS Server and SQL Server
• Perform geodatabase backups and quality checks
• Scripting and Data Maintenance Tool development

• Bachelor’s degree in Geography, GIS, Computer Science, or a related field
3-5 years of experience with the following is preferred:
• ArcGIS with geodatabase development, editing, analysis, and QA/QC
• ArcSDE replication, versioning, synchronization
• Geodatabase development and analysis using GIS
• Microsoft Office
• Python scripting and Esri Model Builder
• Batch data loading and scripting experience
• SDE/Geodatabase administration
• Ability to multi-task, detail oriented, and have strong organizational skills
• Data analysis, problem solving, and troubleshooting skills
• Strong teamwork and communication skills
