Greenway • Nature Preserve • Stream Restoration
For this 9-mile bicycle and pedestrian system that will connect Torrence Creek Greenway to Birkdale Commons, ESP is currently designing a 3.6-mile paved, ADA-accessible trail segment to expand the existing greenway west from Gilead Road to Auten Nature Preserve.
The study area includes a historic grist mill, proposed park site, stream crossings, a riparian buffer corridor within a FEMA floodplain and on CLTWater easement, and a trunk sewer upgrade line.
Under a previous contract, ESP also assisted with 2.5 miles of stream restoration in support of the trail segment from Torrence Creek Greenway to Chilgrove Lane. To improve stream functions and protect existing infrastructure, ESP performed H&H analysis, field and ALTA surveys, property deed research, and conservation mitigation.
